I was the guru of the "change your thoughts," "change your life" movement.

And I still find value in it, but as a stepping stone to greater understanding. First I need to tell you how valuable it is to step away from everything, even social media, to clear your head.
You cannot hear from yourself with so much internal and external noise to process. What did I learn? That it's not just about changing your thoughts in order to feel good or happy, because you will continue to need to do so. Want to know how to start feeling happy again no matter what's going on in your life? Pay attention to your feelings and emotions. And then notice they are attached to the stories you're telling yourself.
Without your stories your emotions live alone and you understand they are just that..emotions...moving energy without a purpose/story unless you assign them one.
